There’s been some buzz around Pokémon Go surrounding an upcoming electrifying event. Well, the sparks will be lit as the Crackling Voltage event is kicking off soon on the AR-game. It will feature, as its name suggests, a large number of Electric-type Pokémon appearing in the wilds, in Raids, and as encounters for challenges.
The Crackling Voltage event will be held between January 27th and February 5th in Pokémon Go. The wilds will be populated by numerous Pokémon like Ekans, Magnemite, Electrika, Blitzle, Ferroseed, and more. For the first time, lucky trainers may also be able to get their hands on a Shiny version of Helioptile.
Furthermore, similar Pokémon like those mentioned above alongside Jolteon, Venomoth, Mawile, and Weezing will also feature in raids. The biggest catch comes in five-star Raids, as Alola’s guardian deity, Tapu Koko, is returning. It is a strong legendary Pokémon that trainers wouldn’t want to miss. Plus, Tapu Koko’s Shiny variant is making its debut too.
In addition to this, seven-kilometre eggs will contain Stunfisk, Dedenne, Alolan Sandshrew, and Skarmory. On the other hand, Field Research will reward trainers with encounters including Pokémon like Voltorb, Plusle, Minun, Emolga, and Helioptile.
That’s not all happening during the Crackling Voltage event, though. Team Go Rocket is back to no good as another takeover is happening between February 1st and 5th. This time, Giovanni seems to have acquired a Shadow Registeel. All tasks will be available in a Special Research story which will grant a Super Rocket Radar along the way.
Eventually, players can catch up to Giovanni and help save the Registeel. This Special Research will remain active throughout the month until March 1st and 10:00 am local time.
